FOOD! What's your absolute favorite LI restaurant - and why?....
I know there's sooo many out there that I haven't tried...and would like to try them all

Famous Dave's. Granted I live around the corner, I love their ribs! Its realitvely cheap and so yummy!

Excluding Panera Bread, which I am totally obsessed with....
Red Dish - Commack - they have some really different dishes, great ambiance, a menu that changes seasonally and I heart their spring rolls with peanut sauce

I don't live on LI anymore, but every time I visit my father and pass Tara's Inn in Pt. Jeff, it brings back fond memories of cheap good food. (It's been a few years since I've been there, so I don't know if that's changed)
My sister and I had lunch at Zita Pita in Pt. Jeff, that was REALLY good.

I love Mi Tierrita. They have two locations: Brentwood and Hempstead. Not only is the food to die for, they make the best sangria. If I was able to, I'd eat there every day!!

taras was recently given a makeouver by one of those tv shows. so it is updated and freshly painted inside.
as for my fav restaurant by far it has to be indian cove in hampton bays - reasons the views are amazing ( it is right on the water) , the food is always fantastic, and the service is second to none all the waitstaff is professional and things work like a well oiled machine there.

Bravo Nader in Huntington...The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is quiant and romantic since it's so small. Very friendly too!

OH ALL RIGHT! Stop staring at me like that!
Duke Falcon's in Long Beach. They have interesting stuff in every dish, it's not just the same-old, same-old. Specialty drinks too, and one dessert that I drool over every time I think about it.
And they send us buy-one get-one 1/2 off entree coupons. Got one at home right now.

DH's family loves Mama Lombardi's for special occasions. when we are out east we like Digger's in Riverhead (an Irish pub type place) - we love their sausage & cabbage soup and baked clams.
Now that we live in Lindenhurst, we go to the South Bay diner on Sunrise by where we live. maybe a little pricey for a diner, but its really nice and the food is great.

La Pace in Glen Cove. Service is # 2 on my list of things I look for when dining out. Of course, food is #1. La Pace has the best service I have ever experienced. They do not remove your plate until EVERYONE at the table is done. When a waiter takes my plate if I am done, and my husband is still eating, it is a HUGE no no for me. The food is incredible. Best Lamb chop I have ever had in my life.
And for Ambience, Mazzi in Huntington.

Cafe Joelle on Main st >> Sayville
food is consistantly wonderful, very varied menu and DH and I seem to always have the same waitress since we started going there 9 years ago
Collins & MAin >> also Sayville and a bit $ Awesome for a special meal, we do our 4x yearly ladies nights there
Milk & Sugar Cafe > Bayshore just fun yummy and cool atmosphere

I forgot, I have to add Pencenzo's in New Hyde Park. My BIL's friend is the owner, I took my BMs out to dinner the night before the wedding there. Food is amazing!
