Anyone ever switch formulas after dc is 4 months?
Ds is 4 months old. My husband thinks that he doesn't like the taste of the Similac Alimentum anymore. He seems to be eating less, especially during the day.
When ds was on Similac Advanced, he had constipation issues.
Since their GI tract is much better after 4 months of age, how big of a mistake would it be to switch back to Advanced? Has anyone ever done this?

IMO, I wouldn't.
Honestly Ali, Christopher hated the taste of Gentlease, but he took it when he was hungry enough and eventually it made the transition to milk a lot easier.
As long as Jacen is gaining weight I wouldn't worry about whether or not he likes the taste.

He is gaining weight, but he's not drinking enough ounces within a 24 hour period. As strange as that may seem. He used to drink 5 ounces every bottle and the past few weeks its been 3-4 ounces.
I'm not too thrilled with the idea, but since my husband spends more time with Jacen than i do... i feel like i can't dismiss his idea.

I don't have any personal experience with formula.
I say discuss it with the pediatrician.

Is he on cereal yet? Sometimes when they start cereal they eat less form.
Let me tell you that Christopher NEVER ate more than 6oz of formula at a feeding, even at 11 months old, but he always woke up at night. Unfortunately, I think some babies just do, you know?

Nope no cereal yet. He went from drinking 5-6 ounces to now 3-4. Very odd.
Oh i know. I guess it was just such a tease because he used to sleep through the night. That was when he was drinking 5-6 ounces...

For awhile DD was a big spitter upper and we switched to..geez...I can't even remember! after a few months, the problem got a lot better and we switched back to the regular enfamil with no problems.
I would trust your gut and try it.

He could be eating less if he is teething.

I agree - DS is 3 1/2 months and has been doing the same thing. He's also fussy during the day lately.
ETA: I started cereal today and he loved it. So I know he's at least full. But he's still whining all day so I think he's definitely teething.
