Anyone experiencing the "terrible ones"? Especially with eating
Just curious if anyone else is starting to see the defiant side of their one year old.
My sweet little boy has developed a bit of a temper and is giving me a real hard time at dinner. My DH says if he doesn't eat to just let him miss dinner and to not give him so many different choices. I tend to agree, but I just get worried that he'll be hungry and won't sleep.
Can anyone relate?

Re: Anyone experiencing the "terrible ones"? Especially with eating
My little guy is just coming off a stomach virus, so is refusing anything but yogurt and fruits really..or JUNK FOOD
I will let him have the fruits and yogurt, he literally spits other things that he had loved in the past right at me.
He is Def. showing a bit of a defiant side now...WOW! But we are trying to figure out how best to handle it. I don't let him go hungry though, because then he is just soooo cranky because he IS hungry.....I doubt nay of this has helped...sorry.

That's funny that you say that because my son also just got over a stomach virus, but he's been good now for a week. He is also getting his molars so maybe that is causing him to reject foods he used to like (especially meat). He spits it out, too!

Re: Anyone experiencing the "terrible ones"? Especially with eating
DD has been refusing to eat most solid foods lately, especially meat. Two of her molars just popped through within the last week so I think this is why. Ive been offering her all different things and usually end up giving her babyfood which she gobbles up..(she used to refuse the baby food and only want table food) That tells me that she is definately hungry but that something is bothering her, so I keep giving her choices... It also seems to be worst at dinner. Besides the baby food, she is still doing well with french toast, pancakes and bananas.

Your DD seems like a carbon copy of my DS. He, too, just got his molars and is giving me the most trouble at dinner. He's still doing well with fruits and pancakes, sandwiches, etc. I never thought to try giving him baby food, since he started rejecting the jarred food months ago.

Re: Anyone experiencing the "terrible ones"? Especially with eating
This sounds like my son. All weekend, he would give us such a hard time eating, especially dinner. Thankfully, last night he gobbled up dinner - I guess b/c not really eating dinner the last few nights caught up to him. There were times that he would actually start to throw a tantrum if we tried to feed him. I was just chalking it up to him wanting to be more independent and do it on his own but maybe there is more to it. Hope your little guy starts being less defiant!
