Anyone finding out the sex of your baby AT your baby shower?
I've always said that this is how I want to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl... have the doc write it in a sealed envelope, which I'll give to my mom once she starts planning the shower so she can do up the blue or pink so we'll know what we're having when I walk in.
A few possible problems...
1) Big mouths
2) Confusing registries if we're having one for a boy and one for a girl. (my mom will let guests know which one to buy off of in the invitation).
3) Not being able to talk to my MOM until the shower! She'll probably accidentally slip!
I know it sounds so impossible, but it's something I've always wanted to do!! Anyone else doing something similar?

that's such a cute idea!!!! If it were ME, I'd probably just register neutral either way so that there's only one registry. I think I would kind of have a problem with everybody else knowing before me. I'd rather the guests find out the same day as I do - at the shower.
That would be MY only suggestion. For just your mom (and those putting together the shower) to be told and nobody else. Then that would solve the problem of big mouths and confusing registries. Unless you do want gender specific stuff, but there's really no other option I can think of.

That is so fun!!! We are team green, but that seems like such a unique idea. I don't know if I'd love my mom and sister knowing before me, haha. I'd probably make one of them tell me before just because I'm annoying like that. I think it sounds amazing, what an exciting shower!

I agree with the rest. Don't tell anyone. Have everything neutral on registry and at the shower. Then open the envelope with everyone at the shower OR give it to the restaurant and have them bring out either a pink or blue cake at the end

i think its cool!!! make sure on the invite it says somewhere that you will find out the sex that day!!
also do 2 registries. once mom know what iit is she can delete or erase the other regisrty!!! but that means you can't registry stalk!!!!
how fun!!!

I would never want everyone else knowing but me...
However..like someone else said...revealing it with a cake at the end would be really cute, and it would only require one person knowing aside from you!!

It's totally a cute idea but i def agree that I wouldn't have two registries. . just do gender neutral stuff and have just your mom know

I like this idea.
Honestly the other way - sounds like a lot of stress and work. It's cute in theory, but would kill me knowing that other people know what I'm having before me. No way, no how could I do that.

Oooh, I like that idea!! Yes, if you just let your mom know then that would be even better than having the entire place decorated in pink or blue. With a surprise cake then everybody can find out TOGETHER in the same moment - how exciting!!
P.S: is your DH gonna be there at the Shower? I was curious if you & him will be finding out together or if he's ok with you just telling him after

Cute idea...I would just be nervous about someone slipping before hand...and I would reg. neutral but maybe u can register for the bedding girl and boy...then everything else neutral
