Anyone get ANOTHER anatomy scan so late in pregnancy..

I am not considered High Risk..

and my Dr is on vacation this week. I went for a check up and saw another dr in her practice (I never do...just today..first time meeting him)

he told me that I never had an anatomy scan and he would like me to go for one in a week...even though I am not high risk..

Of course the apt that was made will be BEFORE my dr is back from vacation...

I just feel weird about going for a test that MY DR didnt schedule me for!

Am I over reacting or is this common?

I am 35 weeks!

Did you never have the 20 weeks scan? From what you wrote it sounds like the Dr says you didn't. If you did maybe the results weren't in your file and that's why he is suggesting it.


I get them every 2 weeks but that is because I am not high risk.

That is the thing..I SWEAR I did! and I would find it odd that I would not have...not to mention that I do get a very detailed sono every time I go...

I cant imagine I need to get one so late and again if I already had one and I get a sono every two-three weeks anyway!

Sounds like he's talking about a growth sono, not an anatomy scan! I can't see why one at 35+ weeks would even be considered! But a growth sono is possible, if you didn't have one around 30 weeks.

This is normal It's actually a growth sono- but it's the same as a Level 1.

I went at 35 weeks.
