Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
like they are asleep? I get it at least 2x a day in my hands, and I get it in my legs and feet when I'm laying down.
I checked a few sites and I haven't found this listed as a pregnancy symptom so I was wondering if anyone else experiences it too?
its a total pain when I'm at work and I'm dropping everything

Re: Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
I'm thinking it's kinda like carpel tunnel syndrome. I get it bad in my arms/hands when I'm sleeping. And it's not even on just the side I'm sleeping on - it's both sides! And my feet/legs can go numb when I'm sitting in my hard kitchen chair for too long.

Re: Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
I guess I will mention it to the dr the next time I'm there. its just my hands though not my wrists, and I though carpa tunnel was in your wrists? I remember reading about carpal tunnel when PG but I thought it was just a lot of pain

Re: Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
i get this too. when i am sleeping it wakes me up at least once a night to revive my hand and at other times throughout the day my fingers or hands will go numb if they are in one position for too long. i read in one of the pregnancy books that it is common for this to happen but i forget why.

Re: Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
Carpal tunnel can be painful or numbness. It has to do with the baby restricting blood flow or resting on a nerve... I had it worse with my son than this time but it went away pretty quickly after delivering...

Re: Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
I had this in my hands really bad at the end of my pregnancy. The fingertips on my left hand actually stayed numb for about 6 weeks after delivery. My dr said it was just because of so much swelling and pressure on the nerves.

Re: Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
I got this too towards the end of my last pregnancy and my dr said it would go away immeidatly after delivery. Well it didn't and every nurse, dr, fellow, cleaning lady who checked on me I would ask them...when will i feel my hands again..and everyone said..oh not sure what that is...should be soon..can't do anything till 6 weeks post partum. Finally one nurse who has probably seen it all said to me hunny i had that with all my kids and it takes a few weeks to go away. I felt soo much better that someone could tell me it was normal and sure enough it took about 6 weekes but it went away. Hang in there!

Re: Anyone get numb tingling hands and feet?
I baked a three layer cake this past weekend with homemade frosting and my handheld mixer stopped working... by the time i was done, three fingers on my left hand were numb. I looked it up online and read that prego ladies are prone to carpal tunnel syndrome. Later on that night, my entire left arm hurt. I realized it was my muscles bc of all the hand mixing. Took tylenol, drank water, and by the next day, pain and numbness was gone.
ETA: These symptoms can also be brought on by water retention.
