Anyone get really intense Ovulation pain?
Ever since being off the pill i've been getting really intense ovulation pain each cycle.
I remember the first cycle I was off it I was telling everyone at work that I thought I had appendicitis b/c the pain was on my lower right side and even down my thigh.
Finally after researching online I read about mittelschmerz and then called my obgyn. He said it's definitely ovulation pain but if it lasts more than 12 hours to call him. It lasted exactly 12 hours... and 8 months later I still get the same pain (either on the left or right side) each mid-cycle.
I'm typing this in so much pain. It hurts more when I stand up straight and when I go to the bathroom. I'm also extremely bloated... worse than when AF comes.
I can't even go to the gym tonight.
Anyone else go through this?
I'm curious to know how common this is.
My obgyn said not to worry about it, it's just an annoyance and to be glad that I have a regular cycle and "know" when I ovulate.

Yes I have mittelschmerz and I get it every month. I have a cyst on my right side so that's the side that bothers me the most. You are not alone

i would havce it checked.. i had the same problem and it turned out to be enodmetriosis....

I have mittelschmerz too. Only once in awhile but I have a decent tolerance for pain & that puts me over the edge.
Very real. Very painful.

I was going to post this the other day b/c I had pain every single time I took a step.
The one positive about it...I know that in 14 days or so, AF is coming for a visit. But suppose we were TTC...sex would be the last thing I'd want

I normally don't have them but this cycle I really knew I had them! It was worse when I was walking around. It lasted about 8 hours though

I am basically good until about day 12-13 after AF and then the fun begins. It hurts to sit, cough, sneeze etc. for about 5-6 days and I am also so bloated that I can hardly wear my jeans. Then I have a couple of good days and then AF.
Between all of it I feel like I have one unbloated week a month. It really is awful.

yes.
i have this.
ever since I had my daughter via C-section- i get this and ONLY in my right side. Like you, the first time I Got it I thought I had appendicitis and went to the ER and got a cat scan.
The second time, I had a sonogram done and they looked at my ovaries..
they have found nothing.
the only thing that helps is 3 advil.

Yes, I used to get the intense stuff a lot -- in my lower right side, and also down my right thigh. Any stress at all definitely made it worse for me, and thinking about it, as well as the uncertainty of what it was.
I have had this checked out extensively. Please FM me if you'd like details. Nothing was found.
Now it has gotten so, so much better with age. It was the worst when I was between 26-33. Now I feel only twinges! I am so grateful...and I understand.

OMG, it feels like my ovary is exploding! I take motrins. I used to take Celebrex the day before I Od to prevent the pain.

Me too!!! This just started happening to me since I turned 40, I just assummed it was peri menopausal. I have a gyn appt in March and was planning on talking to her about this.

I have this too - also on my right side and down my thigh. Sometimes it feels as if the pain is all around my hip. Its terrible...
On the plus side when I was TTC I knew when I was ovulating and got pregnant on the first try!!

That really is a plus... that's great! I'm glad to know when I ovulate, but wish it wasn't SO painful.
