Anyone go to Stony Brook Associates in Ob/Gyn?
When was your first sono? When I called to schedule my first appt (for 8 weeks) the receptionist said I wouldn't have one until 12 weeks, which seems late.

That is pretty standard.
People treated for infertility get earlier sonos to confirm pregnancy and number of embryos.

My first sono was when I went into confirm but it was too early. I had sonos at 6.5 weeks, 9 weeks then 12 weeks.

Why are they so rude to me? I said I wanted one to confirm, and the receptionist asked if I took a POAS test, and said "that's your confirmation!"
I'm not even sure of the month that I conceived, so I'd really like a dating sono, but again, they told me to wait.

I am so sorry...I misread your post. I go to a different ob.

What if you're further along than they think and you want to do the NT Scan? Even if they are off by 1-1.5 weeks you could miss your "window" and be too late for the 12 week testing!!
I've heard of people having to wait until 10 weeks, but never 12 weeks. That seems WAY too late for a first sono, especially if you're not sure when you conceived.

Not sure which group you're talking about. Is that the one at 4 Technology Drive? I've been there for my NT scan and they always seem reallly busy.
I go to Stony Brook Gynecolgy & Obstetrics in E. Setauket (Dr's Porte, O'Keefe, Welischar and Lochner) and they saw me with both at almost 7 weeks.
Note sure why the receptionist would tell you to wait until 12 weeks doesn't seem the norm.
BTW...should I say congrats

I thought it was 4 tech but I know the place that's where I had my NT scan. When i called to schedule and when I went it was always VERY busy and the reception area is hit or miss. I say you swith over to mine and NoStressMom's practice . You'd still have to go there for a NT scan but nothing else.

Re: Anyone go to Stony Brook Associates in Ob/Gyn?
Call back and say you want to schedule a sonogram for dating, because you are unsure of your LMP and dates and don't want to miscalculate the date for the NT scan.
I see the midwives (same office) and asked for sono. They said the same thing, they normally wait til 12 weeks. I said I have long irregular cycles so would like it for dating, plus my insurance covers a sono at that time, so schedule me for one. And they did.
