Anyone have a good exercise video they can recommend?? (alittle bit of a vent)
I went to my 24 week dr appt today and my dr told me I am gaining way to much weight and I really need to chill out alittle bit. Im 24 weeks and I have gained 20 pounds.....I dont understand how, I am all belly...my SIL says I am retaining alot of water since my legs and ankles are so swollen and she told me not to take what he said to heart even though I am a big cry baby and I have been crying since I got home....
Well anyway I guess I should do something now so I dont gain to much more.....Any tips?? Video?? Or just any advice??

I am 26 weeks and have gained 19lbs. My doctor said it was perfectly fine and normal Amazing how opinions change from Doctor to Doctor...

If he is so concerend, did the doctor offer any nutritional counseling?
How are your eatting habits?
It's not like you can diet now, but maybe you are not making the right choices.
Also have you been exercising up until this point? If not, it's not suggested to start anything, or did your dr say exercise?

My husband and I normally take a walk after dinner but that is really the extent of my exercise....I think I eat pretty good...not to much junk except for my occasional bowl of ice cream but I am not a big cake, cookie of chip eater and I eat a lot of fruits and veggies.....

I would talk to your dr more about why they are concerned and suggestions. 20lbs does not seem like a lot anyway.

I think if you haven't been exercising already the best thing to do is walk and do some toning exercises, like leg lifts, lunges, and arms with light weights.
I did the elyptical up until about 28 weeks, didn't renew my gym membership and started to do these exercises at home and it's been keeping the weight under control. I use 5 lbs ankle weights and 4 lbs for my arms.

At 24 weeks I gained 20 pounds and the dr. didn't seem concerned. He did say I am retaining some water and there is not too much I can do about that.

20 lbs. at 24 weeks does not sound bad to me at all--I think my weight was similar, and my doctor thought it was fine.
Honestly, if you are not eating a lot of junk or having very large portions of food, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think some doctors are more hung up about the weight than others. Everyone gains differently, and if you aren't doing anything extreme, you should be fine. You need your nutrients, so definitely don't think about dieting now.
Do you drink a lot of soda or fruit juices? Those are things you can cut back on and may actually make a difference. You should probably try to fit some exercise in as well. Walking is good, though you might want to do a longer or more vigorous walk you described. Prenatal yoga is good too, and many centers will let you sign up for limited classes. If you have access to a pool, swimming is one of the best things of all. I wouldn't start lifting weights now, if you haven't done it before or recently.
