anyone have experience with febrile seizures?
My DDs fever reached 102.3 today.... and when I laid her down to change her diaper, her whole body was shaking, her eyes were looking straight at the ceiling, and behind her... and closing like she was going to fall asleep, and she peed all over... I know my DH's sister had them when she was little, and I have been warned to look out for them.. I am a hypocondriach, so I wanted to see if anyone had experience with them on here, and if you did, is that what you would describe it as?
Some background info: she had a fever of 101,3 this morning, gave her tylenol and a luke warm bath, and she went down to 97ish... doctor checked her out, said she was just teething... all she ate today was a jar of food and one banana, and some water... when I checked her temp again, it was 102.. gave her tylenol, it went down.. third time i checked was after the episode, and it was only 102... we gave her tylenol again, and a bath, and now she is sitting next to me sleeping... just took her temp and its 101.8...I dont know what to do.. should I call the drs emergency line or just wait until tomorrow.. see how the night goes?
Thanks in advance...

Re: anyone have experience with febrile seizures?
If she had a febrile seizure you should bring her to the ER so they can check her.
Babies dont get febrile seizures from the height of the fever itself, but how fast the body temperatures rises. My DS gets high fevers (up to 106) and anything over 102 I wont put him in the tub. It can change the body temp too quickly and cause a febrile seizure.
Motrin works best for a fever. If it's high, you can alternate tylenol every 3-4 hours.
