DC's who have febrile seizures

My DS has had three of them so far. They've obviosuly all been when his fever spiked, but nontheless it's so scary! They began when he was 16 months and now I am a nervous wreck all the time!! For those of you who have experienced this, how did you get through it? I am always feeling his head and when he even gets a 99.5 temp I freak out!!Chat Icon

Re: DC's who have febrile seizures

My DS only had one when he was 13 months old. Definitely the scariest 90 seconds of my life. I still worry every time he has a fever. We have been lucky that it hasn't happened again. We make sure to give him Motrin right away. His doctor said that they do usually out grow them. Chat Icon

I am so sorry to hear it has happened more than once. They are so damn scary. Chat Icon Chat Icon

My son 'outgrew' them and my brother also had them and outgrew them. They certainly want to make you scream.
