Anyone have issues with their gums - puffiness/swollen?
With less than 3 weeks to go before my c-section, I am having an issue with my gums above one of my teeth (post and crown actually )
There is a big puffy spot , almost like a flat bubble over it ...Fortunately it doesn't hurt but it seems to be getting worse and I am afraid that it may get (or is) infected before my c-section and cause me a problem...
Of-course I am reading online about pregnancy gingivitis and about a certain type of gum tumor than pregnant women get and I am starting to freak out
Anyone have anything like this? My gums are not great to begin with but I have never had this peticular issue before...
I am going to call a periodontist to see if he can look at it asap, but I REALLY do NOT want to have any kind of procedures done until after my baby gets here...I'm hoping he will either say to come back after baby arrives, or can give me a preventative type antibiotic to take in the interim if I need it...
I guess he would know what antibiotics were safe right

OMG never heard of a gum tumor, but I have experienced inflamed gums and definitely regular flossing and brushing the gums with listerine (advice from dentist) has calmed them and made swelling go away.

Ive definitely been having issues but didnt realize it was related to pregnancy. My gums have been inflamed and even bleeding. Ive never had these probs before and it makes me kinda nervous bc I have a couple of veneers on my front teeth.

Just keep an eye on your veneer...
I had a veneer on one of my front teeth and back in November, out of nowhere, my front tooth broke!! Not the veneer only, the actual tooth underneath...
My dentist said that teeth that have root canals with veneers over them can break easily in pregnancy (she explained why) , so now I have a temp crown until after the baby is born when I will get a permamnet replacement

The tumor is called a pyogenic granuloma or granuloma gradarum- sometimes referred to as a pregnancy tumor ..Apparently they can pop up anywhere but on the gumline is most common...
Leave it up to me, I can never just have a boring pregnancy
