Anyone have some stairs I can pitch myself down????

the non stop screaming is KILLING me...I have tried it all (sushing, rocking, walking, begging, praying, feeding, sling-ing) and he just won't stop

any other creative ideas?

He is going to the ped tomorrow to test for a dairy allergy and talk about possible reflux but I need to live through tonight first Chat Icon Chat Icon

The book The Happiest Baby on the Block was really helpful.

I feel your pain. DS is 11 weeks old and I think he has been crying for 6 of those weeks. He was put on Elecare formula and Axid for the reflux...honestly I don't see a huge improvement. Every time he burps, he screams...and it kills me. His GI told us we could give him Mylanta too, so we are going to try that as well tomorrow. Good luck at the dr....hopefully your LO will feel some relief soon.... Chat Icon

Have you tried the vacuum, a vibrating bouncy seat or a bouncy seat on top of the washer or dryer? My DD went through a phase where the only thing that would calm her was the vacuum.

Definitely sounds like reflux then...the GI doc basically said that 1 out of 2 babies has this and while the meds will coat the esophagus and ease the pain a little, ultimately he has to just grow out of it. Chat Icon Definitely not what I wanted to hear.

DS was like that and it turned out to be a milk protein allergy.

I hope your ped can give you some answers. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

When DS was like that, we would put him in the car and go for a ride. It was the only thing that worked.

Chat Icon DS was just diagnosed with reflux. Do you have Maalox reg. strength in the house? Our dr. said to give DS 2.5mL before feedings or as necessary--you could try that--can't hurt! Chat Icon Been there!

I hold DD, sit on an exercise ball, and bounce. Works like a charm for her!

Re: Anyone have some stairs I can pitch myself down????

this worked for us (usually) during the witching hour: run the water in the bathroom sink and shush or sing in her ear, pat her bottom, lights on, sometimes bounce her a little bit too.

I hope it gets better soon!!! Chat Icon

Sorry Chat Icon I've been there and nothing but Nutramigen and Axid helped. Chat Icon It's just the worst when they are screaming and you can't help them.

Re: Anyone have some stairs I can pitch myself down????

thanks everyone, I will update tomorrow after the ped

I took KJ for a car ride and even that did not help...he screamed the whole time, except for the 5 minutes when I called my sister to vent

he ate a bit when we got home and now he is in his swing, which is inclined...I plan to let him sleep in there tonight , thinking the elevation may help
