Anyone have their appendix out?
how long were you in the hospital and then how long where you recovering?

yes, i was checked in on friday afternoon, had the surgery around 12pm and went home sunday afternoon.
but i was home from work for 2 weeks

DH was in the hospital for two/three days, and recovery was about two and a half weeks.

I was young. I think around 13. I was in the hospital for around 3 days. I only missed a week of school. I think know the recovery time is even less with the higher tech procedures.

Dh did,.... he had emergency surgery they took him up from the ER and was out within 28 hours. He had it laproscopically. Within 72 hours he was back flying for the USAF. (Not ideal since his belt was right on his incisicion but he was in training and needed to complete it)
My brother had his out as well but had his done the old fashioned way and he was in the hospital longer about 3 days and was out of work 1 week.
So I don't know if its dependant on your insurance Tricare Military insurance Vs. United Healthcare or the way your Doc removes it.
The military told my husband to take a GI cocktail and sleep it off so they were pretty ****** when they missed it and we had the surgery done at a civilian hospital so his insurance wanted his butt out of the hospital ASAP

there is a big difference between having it done the old fashioned way and laproscopically..
trying to get an idea what I'm in for..
not appendix related but close..

i did...
(i was 13) but that was before people got them our via laser or something like that
i was in the hospital maybe 3 days
my friend who had hers out a few years back and she was out the SAME DAY

I'm laughing at the same day thing. I want to ask my surgeon if he'll do it on an out patient basis! My regular doc almost fell on the floor when I told him that! Hoping for laprascopic!

had mine out almost 5 years ago. Removed around 6pm on Tuesday and home on Friday....then home from work for another week.
