Anyone Have Their Kids Baptism Party on a Saturday at a Restaurant? HELP!!
So I got the church book for the babys christening on a Saturday at 2:00 and would have the party afterwards at a restaurant between 3-7 or 4-8, but now a bunch of restaurants are saying they prefer not to have a party during that time since they would prefer to have a time to have 2 parties on a Saturday and my party would start too late. One even told me they would be open to do it at anytime on a Sunday, but can't on a Saturday. Was wondering what you ladies did if you had it the same day/time.
I can't change the time at the church becasue they have another baptism at noon and I really don't want to do this at home since I work full time and have two other kids and just don't have the time to do this.

I would keep calling around until I found a place... I had it at a restaurant on a Saturday at around the same time as you and had no problem.

I ran into similar problems on a Sunday too. I had mine at 4. We actually went in a little early about 3:30 ish and stayed at the bar until the restaurant was ready for us.
A hall is another option or you could have people at your house in between. But that would be an added stress.
Take a lot of pictures at the church.

I had a Saturday party starting at 4. It was in NYC at an Italian restaurant. Let me know if you need info.

We are having our twins christened on a Saturday too. The ceremony is at 11 and we will be having the party from 1-5. We had no trouble finding a restaurant. I would look around for another restaurant or as the previous poster said look into renting a hall and having it catered.

That happened to us. We had both the boys Christenings on a Saturday in a private ceremony.
DS1 was in June so we had the party at the house. We wanted to have it out but couldnt find a restaurant to accomodate such a late party on a Saturday.
For DS2, knowing what happened the first time around, we made the church at 11 and than a local restaurant was able to accomodate our party from 12:30-3:30 which was more than enough time.

I was having this problem too, on a saturday. Most restaurants dont want to do it on a sat in the middle of the afternoon. My DS's Baptism is at 2 pm and the restaurant will be at 5 pm; I hope it wont be too much of an inconvenience.

Pretty sure I'm going to do a brunch before the ceremony. Then after the ceremony everyone goes home.

We ran into the same issue, but ours was on a Sunday. We had the part at 4pm at Hemingway's in Wantagh, because they have a separate party room.

we did not have an issue with this as I recall - our party was at an Italian place/pizza place in NYC on a Saturday afternoon if you would like the info.
