Anyone have two godparents of the same sex?
We're christening DS soon and he's DC #3 and we're having a lot of trouble coming up with a godfather but have plenty of options with women in the family. Is it allowed to have two godmothers instead of one and one? And is that too weird? There are so many relatives who don't believe or don't practice anymore or who don't live near us or have anything to do with the kids it's really slim pickins

I am in the same exact situation except I want 2 godfathers lol. I don't have a particular female in our lives that would be a great choice and I really don't know what to do. My parents are making me feel guilty and think it's too weird, but I'd be happy with my brother and DH's brother. Wish I had answers for you.

My best friend is a single mother and she is planning on having 2 godmothers (her 2 best friends) and one godfather. She has met w/several churches (none of them Catholic) that are very open to that. In addition, my husband is one of 2 godfathers to his niece, and that was actually in a Catholic church, but his brother and SIL had an in there so it was an exception. In my friend's experience, there are a lot of open churches to non-traditional godparent choices.

That is untrue. I was baptized in a Catholic Church. They weren't happy about it, but they allowed it.
