Re: Anyone have windows replaced with a door?
We replaced 2 large windows (6'x6') with french doors and a single double hung with a pair of french doors. Unfortunately I can't recall what we paid. I'll have to ask my DH and get back to you.

Re: Anyone have windows replaced with a door?
We replaced a single door and a window with a sliding glass door and an air conditioner. The door alone with some materials cost almost $2000 we paid someone about $1000 to install it. Then when we had our siding done we had to have them extend the overhang that was only over the original door and we just redid the stoop with a small landing and stairs that goes from one end of the sliders to the other. The deck cost $2200 (we used trex decking) and the overhang cost us about $750.

We did it ourselves 5 years ago. We live in a levitt cape and removed the rear master bedroom window and replaced it with Pella sliding doors. Luckily my father in law and brother in law did the job and we just had to pay for the materials and the doors.

Re: Anyone have windows replaced with a door?
it really depends on the type of window you get. there are very cheap replacement windows and then there are better quality ones. the cheap ones only last a few years before they start having issues. your looking about $1500-$3000 for just windows
a door could be a lot if you want something nice. a few thousand.
this is just for material I don't know what labor costs, DH does it all himself
