Okay, They said that if there is redness, rash or swelling in the injection site, that it'll go away in about a week's time.
For those who have had this vaccine done and saw no redness, rash or swelling in the injection site, then you have nothing to worry about.

So after I freaked out yesterday with DS having the shot last week, DH called the ped this morning. They used a different manufacturer. His high fever and lump on the injection site were not related.

Re: Anyone hear anything about the HIB vaccine recall on the news tonight?
My DD received a HIB shot last week. My ped's office did have some of the recalled lot. There's really no way to know whether or not DD received a bad one, other than the fact that she's fine.
He explained to me that Merck can not guarantee that the lab was sterile. There is no definite evidence showing that there was anything really wrong with the vaccinces other than there is a chance you could get a bacterial infection (around the injection site.)
I'm not making lite of it, just explaining that what was told to me was more of a 'precautionary" recall, than anything done out of evidence.
I hope everyone is ok!!
