Anyone hear of this regarding common branch teachers?
Had a UFT meeting today. We were talking of course about possible excessing / layoffs. I'm common branch but teach in a middle school. We were told that if these mass layoffs go through, after non tenured teachers being layoff first, common branch teachers would be the next to go regardless of if we have more years then someone under us, anyone hear something similiar?

Have not heard that. What I heard is confusing to explain but the gist is that it will be equal from all areas but since say math has more teachers then art, art teachers with more senority will be let go before math with the same amount of senority.
Someone else said transitional B lisc. and teacher fellows w/o master's would be first to be let go.
I mean at this point I don't know if anyone KNOWS how it will go
