Anyone here a secret or mystery shopper?
I want to do this over the summer since I won't be working. I know there are so many scams out there...what companies are good???
TIA

I tried it for a little while. If you look online you can find the real companies - don't go with one of those places that charge you to get a list of names.
It was really difficult to get shops because they always chose people with experience first. They also don't give you very much money for a shop- I think I got around $10-$20. You have to write up a lengthy report also at the end.

I did it for a while. Honestly, most of the time it is not worth it! You have to write very lengthy, detailed reports and fax them within 24 hours. If you don't have your own fax machine, those fees take a chunk out of the $$ you made.

I just started doing it, but have yet to go out on a job. All the ones I'm sent are for tanning salons, gyms & dentists lately. I just delete em. I'm making more $$ on ebay and I have another 100 points on my survey website I do. Then I get my $50 check. Might not be much, but I could sure use $50!

My friend does it and its true about writing the reports. She said to look on the web and only go to companies that don't ask you to pay them any money to join.

Re: Anyone here a secret or mystery shopper?
I have done it in the past - the reports are lengthy and they are usually very particular about the reports being well written - and they usually want names of all the people you encountered and you can't write notes at all in the stores or restaurants so you have to have good memory. I have done a number of restaurant ones. The pay really isn't so great for the amount of work - it is better for things like a free meal or some free merchandise. Once you shop many places you can't do so again for quite some time. It has its benefits but if you are doing it for some money forget it - it doesn't bring in enough to make it worth it.
