Anyone here have GHI (NYC plan) and go for multiple RE consults?
Hi, I was just wondering if you have ghi and went for multiple consults did insurance cover everything? I went to 2 different re consults so far, did bloodwork and Sono and paid the copays at both places, but now I'm getting nervous. I called up to double check and they said that we are allowed second opinions but I wanted to see if anyone had experiences with this . Thanks!

I had no problems with ghi/nyc covering everything regarding two consults.

Just bumping this because now I'm worried. I just got the explanation of benefits from ghi today for the RE who I got a 2nd opinion on and I see they denied payment on blood tests he ran because "a similar procedure was run in the same time frame". I saw the two REs a few days apart. Now I'm freaking out that I may be billed all this $ for the bloodwork. Ghi customer service is closed so I wanted to see if this may have happened to any of you ladies?

I don't have GHI, but sometimes they deny something like a "venipuncture" because that cost is included in the price of analysis that they are paying for an item. If it's the actual tests then that might be a problem.
ETA - what does the EOB say your $$ responsibility is? If it says zero then don't worry about the things they denied. If it says all the money, it might be an issue.

Yea it was for seperate tests like progesterone etc. they just wrote the amount billed, amount I paid (0) and what they paid (0) but its not actually a bill
