Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
I'll bump again on Monday morning because I know the weekends get slow around here, but I feel like I can never make it to any of the GTGs because I'm in Brooklyn. I know there are a few city Mommies on the boards--anyone down for a GTG?
(This is not meant to exclude LI Mommies--I'm just looking to do a GTG in a Brooklyn/City location...)

Re: Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
I am honestly only like 15 mins from Park Slope-- and can get downtown NYC faster, but parking is a b!tch!!!
I would host something here-- but then there is the Holland.
All so close, but all those damn bridges and tunnels!!

Re: Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
I'm in Manhattan, probably the furthest point in the city from Brooklyn , but I'm down. Would def. be better for me if it somewhere in the city, we could do downtown though since it's closer for the brooklyn ladies. Yay, looking forward to it!

I'd be interested if you guys were meeting on the weekend. We're just moving back and would love to meet some new mommies. Manhattan preferred.

Re: Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
So I was thinking Park Slope not only becuase I live here and it's super convenient for me but also because it it so kid and mommy friendly. If anyone can think of a place in manhattan that is also kid /Mommy friendly, throw out your ideas!

I definitely like the Park Slope idea, but I am not sure what place can accommodate a group of mommies and children. What were you thinking? If it is in Manhattan I would most likely be able to attend if it is on the weekend.

Brooklyn has a ton of indoor play spaces-- so, if we were organized-- we could maybe call and arrange a time when we could get there and we'd each pay the fee-- I think it's usually like $10 or $15. It seems there is enough of us to reserve the time. But during the week, that may be hard.
I know there is also this place downtown NYC (Tribeca area) called Moomah Cafe that can probably accommodate a large group if we called about what we could do-- http://www.moomah.com/about/ but things in Manhattan tend to be pretty expensive.

Re: Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
I've driven for over an hour each way to get to GTGs so I'm definitely in for a local one! If it's in Park Slope I can expect to spend the same amount of time on the road... 15 minutes to get there (I'm in Bay Ridge) and 45 minutes to park.

I'm in! I live on the upper east side, so Manhattan is more convenient for me, but I'd go to Brooklyn too. Let me know if I can help scout out some locations.

Re: Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
It would take me over an hour to get to Park Slope by subway from where I am in Manhattan. No way DS is gonna make that w/o a tantrum.

Re: Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
So...silly question...how do you city moms get around? DD is almost 7 months and I am still hesitant to take the subway..especially during flu season. We take the bus once in a blue moon, but only with the bjorn. Usually we do cabs, and bring the carseat, which is also a pain and she doesn't love.
I have the bugaboo...so it's kind of difficult to travel with.
I guess to get to Brooklyn, I'd take a cab and use the carseat adapter for my stroller.
How do you all do it?

Re: Anyone interested in a Brooklyn/NYC/ GTG?
If I can drive easily, I do... otherwise, I take mass transit.
My DS is 1.5- up until he was 1 I found it easiest to wear him to get around -I liked the ergo carrier the best. Since then, I got a light weight, easy to collapse stroller (chicco c6).
