anyone introduce the sippy cup and not the bottle?
many of you may know, or remember, that my 5mo (today!) DD will not take the bottle. its been a 2mo test with her that she is refusing to take. my ped said perhaps we should start introducing the sippy cup.
anyone with experience have any thoughts? which brand? success? failure? how long till your DC 'got it?'

I think you are just going to have to try out all different sippys...each baby likes different sippys. My DS always took the bottle, and this is the only way I can find out which one works for him since there are soo many out there..

Neither of my girls took a bottle.
DD#1 went right to a sippy at about 6/7 months.
DD#2 took to a straw sippy REALLY early on, like 4 months
It just depends.

Re: anyone introduce the sippy cup and not the bottle?
I have been in a similar situation. DS has refused the bottle and we tried the sippy and refused that too. DH has been trying everyday when I am at work and somethimes he will take the bottle. I guess it is when he is really hungry. We have purchased every bottle and any sippy cup that was listed as 6 months (or yonger) and he hasn't liked any. We are going to keep trying to see what happens. If you find any sippys that work well, please pass that info along. I personaly think, my DS equates the sippy cup to the bottle and that is why he won't take it.

Munchkin makes a Sippy cup with a very very soft spout. I introduced it to DS a 4mths bc he wouldn't take water from bottle. Very easy for him to use! BRU sells them & Target Image Attachment(s):

Re: anyone introduce the sippy cup and not the bottle?
DS also refused the bottle at around 4 months and by 6 months, I was able to get him to successfully drink from a sippy. He always just bit it and never drank from it. (If they bite the spout, liquid does come out, btw...)
By 7/8 months, he was drinking from a straw sippy and has never gone back. He guzzles his drinks with a straw sippy.
