anyone know granite pricing?
i got a quote of 2500 for 25 sqft of black galaxy. does that sound good? that is installed with a free undermount sink

That is $100 PSF. Sounds like its on the high side, but im not sure what the going price is for Black Galaxy.
I paid $65 PSF for blue pearl, the sink cutout was about $200 - so if you were to pay the $200 for the sink cutout, that would be $92 PSF>

ive never heard of a stain warranty. I would think you wouldnt have any issues with black galaxy and staining, its so dark!
It is very easy to seal granite. Its sold in a spray. Where did you get the quote from?

Did you shop around?
We went to three granite places this weekend (in FL) and ended up finding a smaller place, which was recommended to us by a few coworkers that used them, that gave us a great deal!
We didn't end up getting black galaxy but looked into it. The granite we chose (Verde Peacock) is a level C and I believe black galaxy was a level D, which would mean it's a little more expensive than what we got. But the quote you posted seems very expensive.
We're getting double (50 sq feet) for the same price you posted... plus an undermount double SS sink, any edge we want and they are going to install by Friday. They are also going to cut out some of our wall to insert the end of the raised bar into the wall to make it sturdy.

the quote was from lowes and i guess you're right about the staining..lol it is pretty dark!!

When I was pricing granite I found places like Lowes and HD to be the most expensive. We payed I think $70 or $72 per square foot and it included everything (edging of our choice, sink cut out, sealing, etc).

Home Depot was a bit pricer than other places we looked at... Black Galaxy I know is a class D, so it is the highest price.
