don't know about donating, but you can do a "curb alert" on craigslist and someone that could use it will come pick it up

i'm afraid they won't come right away though. i don't want my stuff sitting outside of my house indefinitely.

dont' worry, if it's on the free part of craigslist and you put your address, i would give it 1 hour and it will be gone. everything that i have done curb alerts on never sat in front of my house very long!!

I agree! everyone I know that did this, the stuff didn't even last a day! post pictures of the stuff and update the ad when they are gone so you don't have a bunch of people coming by. Unless you state they are broken, you will not be stuck with them. (people also take them for the metal though)

ReStore always takes working building-related supplies. Windows, appliances, tubs, lumber, doors, etc.
I recently donated all of my old windows, front door, and skylights to them. Just drop it off, they take some info from you, then mail a letter you can bring with you to your tax preparer for your deductions.

Re: anyone know if i can donate my appliances
appliances never last long at the curb. i had a fridge out there once, within 15 min it was gone. my mom just put her very old stove by the curb and it was gone in an hour. like other posters have mentioned, put a curb alert on craigslist and it will definitely be gone soon.
if it doesn't go in a day or two, bring it to the habitat for humanity restore in ronkonkoma.
