Anyone know where I can file a claim against Fortunoff?
I have an order that I paid for in full that never went through. The manager last night said I'd have to file a claim to get my money back - he said there's something on the website, but there isn't.
I googled up a storm and couldn't find anything either.
Any help would be appreciated!
It's only $27 BUT - when I called to check the status of my order, they said everything was out of stock but when I went last night - they had one of the items!!!! The manager wouldn't let me take it b/c he said everything belongs to the liquidators now. So just on principle - I want my money back.

I went through a similar situation with a different company that went bankrupt a few years ago.... the order even came in! It was in their warehouse (about $300 in flatware). In the end, it wasn't worth the trouble to deal with the lawyers. They made it so difficult, and at every step, they said there would be no garantee that I would get my stuff.
almost certainly, you wouldn't recoup the $27.... I couldn't even recoup my $300....

Was it on a credit card? Charge it back through your credit card company.

I would dispute the charge too if I purchased on a CC and did not get the merchandise.

They probably mean a proof of claim. That's typically what is filled out to get paid back when someone files a BK. Chances are you won't see it for a long time though since secured creditors are paid first.

Dispute the charge with your CC. I ordered furniture from Levitz and they went out of business a week after delivery. There was some knicks and stuff on some of the furniture...nothing big but enough to have them come and fix it. When they went bankrupt they wouldn't come. I filed a claim with the cc and all the furniture that was in the claim was credited back to me.
