Anyone live in Riverhead area (or Wading River) and work in Manhattan or Queens?
How do you get to work?
Is driving the only option?
What about LIRR?
TIA

I don't live in those areas but I would never work in the city if I lived there or I would never live there if I worked in the city.
The LIRR is over 2 hours each way.

I'm not that far from you. I drive to Ronkonkoma in the morning and take the LIRR to Penn Station. For me it is a 2 hour commute door to door. I find that it is a faster commute from Ronkonkoma.
Driving is definately not an option unless you are leaving your house before 5:30 a.m. and leaving the city prior to 3:00 and even then, you're going to sit in some traffic and your commute will turn into a 3 hour + commute.
FM me if you have any questions.

Re: Anyone live in Riverhead area (or Wading River) and work in Manhattan or Queens?
I live on the border of Wading River & Ridge. I work in massapequa but I know a few of my neighbors work in NYC. One guy leaves his house around 5:30 am & gets home after 7pm. They lived in Queens & moved out here to the country about four years ago, he says its worth it. I've noticed another neighbor that works in NYC seems to work from home a couple of days a week. I would think the 20+ minute drive to Ronkonkoma, then the train ride would be a killer.

I have family that lives in Wading River and from my house to theirs it is about an hour or just under. That would be a far commute for Sebastian.

Jill, it's too far. Chris can barely handle Holbrook to Brooklyn.
I grew up in Miller Place and my dad's job was in Manhattan, but they let him work out of the house 98% of the time.
