Anyone not switch nipple sizes?
DS is 4.5 months and still on level 1. He always drinks in 30 minutes or less and never seems to complain. I mean I have no problem with it but am I maybe missing something?

Re: Anyone not switch nipple sizes?
Well, Cailen flipped out on me when he was 1 mt old because the formula wasn't moving fast enough for him - I had to switch to 2's then!!!

Re: Anyone not switch nipple sizes?
I think I changed DD to stage 2 around 5 mths - - a bottle shouldnt take more than 20 min or so to finish according to the dr.

Me
DD hates the fast flow. She gags. She does take forever to drink a bottle. 5 months, almost 6..stuck on level 1.
ETA: its less than 30min but feels like a long time

Re: Anyone not switch nipple sizes?
I didn't switch to size 2 with my first DD until she was around 6 months old and someone "commented."
My doctor said if she's not complaining, then there's no need to change anything.

Re: Anyone not switch nipple sizes?
I never switched ever with my first son. I think as the nipples get a little older and more "well-worn" they stretch a little anyway.

Re: Anyone not switch nipple sizes?
Whew..okay now I feel better. 30 minutes is the most it takes for him to drain the bottle and that's because he has to pause to smile at me cause he knows I am a sucker for it.
He's also still only on 6 - 6.5 oz per bottle and gets about 30 oz a day but he's gaining so I am assuming that it's okay. Please tell me if I am wrong.

Re: Anyone not switch nipple sizes?
I didn't even think of this until I saw a post yesterday. DS is 4 1/2 months too. He is still on one. He does take a long time to drink a bottle (sometimes the whole hour the daycare says!), but that is because he takes a lot of breaks and will then go back to it. I gave him a #2 today and they said he drank the whole thing straight through in 20 min! So, I guess I'm switching.
I do 6 oz's each bottle as well, but I also nurse, so I'm not sure exactly how much he is really getting.

Its all good. Lucas is doing fine.
I hear the same. Esp Gianna who is petite so I cant expect her to be sucking down bottles and she also only drink 6oz per bottle. As long as he is gaining weight, he is ok.
