Anyone NOT wait the recommended time by your OB to start TTC again?
Just curious....
I had a miscarriage and D&C in Sept. My OB recommends waiting 2 cycles to start TTC but did say it's just so I can be aware of my cycles. Said if I came in pregnant sooner he would congratulate me and all would probably be fine.
My DH wants to wait...I just got AF last night and would LOVE to start TTC again this month/cycle.
Just curious if there are others out there who didn't obey dr's orders.
I have had 1 healthy pregnancy - DD is 16 mos. This was my 1st miscarriage. I am 35 yrs old.

Originally my OBGYN told me to wait 2 cycles...i was not planning on listening..i planned on just waiting the one. HOWEVER, when i went for my follow-up app't, my doctor said it was ok to start trying just after one cycle.
I did a lot of research on it, and it seems pretty safe to start trying after one cycle. I didn't get pregnant on that cycle anyway, but at least i felt better that we were trying. Three months later i did get pregnant again.

thanks for the responses ladies!
i need to find some reserch online that it's safe to get my DH on board....I really feel ready to start trying. I should be ovulating right around our 5th anniv and we are going away....would be nice to start trying then.

I want nothing more then to try again BUT Im still waiting for my AF (8.5w post D&C). I would have been trying by now if I was back on track.
I plan on waiting at least one cycle... hope after that Im back on track and regular. Waiting is the worst! Im usually very patient but this is

i had a miscarriage in august and my doctor said the same thing to wait 2 cycles to ttc again...we tried after one cycle...didnt work but we didnt want to wait that long

I miscarried in October and am also waiting for AF. It's only been a month since it happened. My doctor said to wait at least two months before trying. Needless to say DH and I are counting down the days to start ttc again.

i had a miscarriage and a D&C on 9/27. initially my dr. told me 2 cycles and I went for my follow up 4wks later and my other dr. (multi-dr practice) told me after 1 cycle. so AF came on 10/28 and I should be O'ing on 11/11 and we started TTC on saturday night.. did again last night for fun and will be  every night this week!!! i gonna make sure I have fun trying!!!!

Yep. I agree. My OB told me to wait 3 cycles. I actually only waited one, the second cycle it didnt happen but the 3rd cycle I was pregnant. However, she did say that she has seen many women come in a mth or so after their miscarriage pregnant again and they went ahead to have healthy pregnancies. If you dont want to wait, then dont.

My DC was last week of October, I went for a follow up 2 weeks later and the dr said she tells women to wait at least 8 weeks , but best to wait 2-3 cycles. She said we can start early spring, but pretty sure we'll TTC after 1 , maybe 2nd cycle. So looking forward to my first AF. DH wants to TTC asap too. As long as everything is healing properly and you feel emotionally ready I would go ahead.

IMO the return of your cycle is your body's way of telling you that you are ready to conceive again. but that's just how I look at it, not sure what we'll do yet but I don't think there is anything wrong with TTC after 1 cycle.

I wouldn't --- just because my dr told me that the reason to wait is to make sure the lining gets back to where it should be.... that after a D&C your liniing is so thin.
I want to make sure that when we get pregnant again that everything is good to go --- I don't think I can handle a 3rd miscarriage....
But this is just me. If your doc said it is fien then I would go with that, and think that it is fine

I had mc in sept, got my AF oct 31. Dr said to wait two cycles, but we decided we want to ttc. We just waited for the first AF. My friend just waited 1 AF then got pregnant and everything was ok.

Well I think 1 cycle is ok then…that is what my doctor told us. But we were like so itching to try again that we barely even waited for that. Still no bfp for us though…still going ugh.

I saw two different doctors and they gave me two different answers - 1 cycle and 3 cycles - so I waited 2. Good luck!
