Anyone order an Ipad2 lately?
If so, did it really take 3 weeks to come?
I am so mad...I didnt realize that the stores didnt have them in stock.
DH's bday is 4/13 and I was hoping to get him one.
The guy at the Mac store said they get them in everyday but they sell out within a half hour of the store opening and they get a miz of the different kinds.

DH just got an email from Apple on Friday stating that it just shipped from Hong Kong. I don't know if it'll be here by the 13th  Maybe you can buy him an accessory that goes with it (like a cover or something) to give him on his actual birthday.

I was in the store in Manhasset today. They had verizon models in stock today.
The person I spoke with said they are getting bigger shipments now and less people lining up in the morning. She did say there is a line every day. She also said that apple over estimates the shipping but said 2-3 weeks is not too far off.
I agree with pp - maybe get a case or cover for now and the iPad will be there shortly after his birthday.

DH ordered one for me on Monday and we got an estimated delivery day of April 29th. I'm hoping it comes sooner but not expecting it. From what I've heard the delivery dates are pretty accurate and in some cases they have actually shipped a week later then estimated.

I don't know if it applies to the iPad 2 but when I got the iPad 1 for dh they put me on a waiting list at the roosevelt field store and sent me an email when it was ready to be picked up. Took about a week. Maybe you can call ask and ask about that. I was told they sold out within the day bc of the waitlists they have.

The MAC store at Roosevelt Field had a few left, but only Verizon 32gig 3G models

Dh got mine at best buy the day it came out - there was no lines, everyone who was there to get it got one. They have a better protection plan also...

DH just got one for my Bday and had the same problem- then he ran into a Best Buy that happened to have a few in stock the day before my Bday so he snatched it up! We live far away, but maybe you could call a few local stores and see if any of them have it in stock?
