Anyone planning a trip to Dutch Wonderland?

Where will you be staying?
Do you plan to do Hershey and Dutch Wonderland?

I want to go Memorial Day weekend but DS will only be 14 months. Not sure if we should wait until the end of the summer when he is like 17 months old.

Re: Anyone planning a trip to Dutch Wonderland?

We are planning a trip in June. DD will be a few months shy of 3. We plan to stay at the Homewood Suites (We are Hilton Honors members and like get points). I'm planning to do a Day Out with Thomas (It's in Strasburg, PA in mid June) and either a day or two at Dutch Wonderland. The weekend we are going there is a Berry Festival in the area that I think we'll go to. If we only go to DW on one day we'll probably do a buggy ride and some kind of Amish Country tour on the other day.

I was looking at the DW site and see that 36" is the height for a lot of rides so I'd judge by how tall your DC is about when to go.

I know DD will LOVE it, she's totally into princesses and is a little thrill seeker.

I think we will go to DW this summer. DS will be almost 3 years old. I thought about going last summer but based upon the height requirements and reviews, we waited. DD will only be 10 or so months old and I am not sure there will be much for her to do there.

Sorry I thought this was the one in northern NJ. I am not sure we will do this one this summer or save it for next summer to do with Hershey Park.

We are going the end of June. DS will be 3 , DD's will be almost 9 months old.

We are staying at HomeWood Suites by Hilton as well.

We are going to do the Strasburg Railroad( not Thomas weekend) and some other little things.

Re: Anyone planning a trip to Dutch Wonderland?

We're going in August to both Hershey and Dutch Wonderland. DD will be 14 months then. We're staying in the Homeward Suites by Hilton nearby since i have reward points from traveling so much with my old job. We're doing a 3 day/2 night trip. Driving up there 1 day, going to Hershey after dark(it's free if you buy the ticket for the next day), going to hershey the next day and then the last day going to dutch wonderland and heading home.

Re: Anyone planning a trip to Dutch Wonderland?

We went last year when the kids were 2 & 3 and plan on going again this year.

I am not really sure when we are going. Were we live in NJ, it is only 100 door to door for us so we will do it in a day trip.

If you child isn't tall enough for the ride, you just go on with them so I wouldn't worry about the height.

Also, I know you mentioned Pt. Pleasant in another post. If you want FM me your email address and I will send you pictures when I took DD who was 13 months old. She went on a lot of rides. You could always do that on your way back. 2 hours there is more than enough.

Re: Anyone planning a trip to Dutch Wonderland?

DS will definitely not be 36 inches yet. Does that mean he won't be able to ride most of the young kiddie rides?

I was expecting to ride them with him.

Re: Anyone planning a trip to Dutch Wonderland?

It looks like he could go on a good amount of the rides with an adult. I was looking at the list today and it seems that DD could go on most rides. She falls into the Emerald category. The 4 or 5 she is too short for I wouldn't put her on anyway.
