Anyone planning on TTC'ing this fall/winter and worried about the Swine Flu?
I saw a report on the today show this morning that this flu season 50% of the population are expected to get the swine flu.
They may have enough vaccinations available by thankgiving and i would like to be vaccinated before ttc'ing. But what if its not available? I am wondering if we should put off our ttc plans

i would be more concerned with the vaccine than the flu. my ped is very hesitant to give the shot until they have more info on it. i will definately be getting the regular flu shot and so will my kids.

I would be more worried about getting the Swine Flu Vaccine then getting Swine Flu. They had an article in Newsday the other day about how bad the vaccine is and all the problems it is causing with ones health. No one in my family will be getting this vaccine!!

Not at all.....you could catch any number of viruses and/or infectious diseases just going to work, the supermarket, the mall, etc, every single day of any year....this year doesn't worry me any more than any other time, swine flu or no swine flu. Look, there's always going to be something "dangerous" going around, you can't put your life on hold for what COULD happen, but in actuality, might never happen at all. I say go for it.

Me too. My DD will be going to preschool for the first time and I just KNOW that we'll all probably be getting sick more. I'll try to wash her hands more and be better about using purell, but that's all I'm "changing." We've already been TTCing for a year, so I'm certainly not putting it off for the swine flu.

D, this goes through my mind as well but I just try to tell myself that since I am a SAHM, my risks are less. And I would never take the vaccine while pg, I even refused the reg flu shot during pg. I am so tired of worrying about this crap but can't help it.
