Anyone potty train their DC early and been successful
My DD at 17 months, will let us know us that she has to go #2. Yes even before it happens. Its happened a few times already.
My mom and MIL keep telling me to just put on her on the potty just so she can get the idea, associate the two.
Im thinking she is still too young but at same time, she understands enough to let us know its coming...hmmm.
WDYT?
TIA!
ETA: Never tells me about having to go #1.

I say go with it!!
I would put her on the potty. I started doing this with DS at 21mths. He is not fully trained but he will scream POTTY and go running to the bathroom to go #1 & #2

Re: Anyone potty train their DC early and been successful
Go for it! My son potty trained for #2 pretty easily and early on because he could tell us when he had to go and he was pretty regular in his timing, so we knew too!
Don't even ask about how long it took him to pee train, but we were happy not to have to change poop diapers that much sooner!

GO with it!! Put her on the potty when she tells you Kaa-Kaa! Anthony started telling us and that is when we started putting him on the potty. Try it...see how she does with it. Cant hurt to try!

Re: Anyone potty train their DC early and been successful
absolutely start if she is telling you she has to go, that is a GREAT sign
we are working with miki now and in the past week or so, she has pooped on the potty 2x and peed countless times. The sitter puts her on the potty every hour on the hour and I do the same on the weekends

I Think that is so cute!!
So how did she learn the word for it, did you tell her when yu chnaged her diaper, DS is about your DDs age and I want to start to teach him ot associate his diaper change with going poty KWIM.

thanks
and yea..I would say that is how it started with each diaper change...or even the smell coming from her, I would be like "who did kaakaa"
I dont even know WHY I used that word but she caught on.

Re: Anyone potty train their DC early and been successful
Definitely start!!
We've been doing it with Thomas since the beginning of September. He doesn't tell us yet, but he totally understands. We put him on the potty and he sits there, concentrate and go pee pee, and then, most times, he'll also poop!! He claps, flushes and waves bye bye!
