Anyone repeat the 1hr glucose test because your previous deliveries were 'big' babies?
I had my 24 wk midwife apptmnt and I'm a little confused. They want me to do another 1hr glucose test to rule out gestational diabetes, I get that, but I already did the test back in Sept (no fun with a 1yo and 3yo) and I passed it and that was the only time I'd have to do it. I was actually happy to have it done & out if the way, but now they're saying the Sept test was only to rule out PRE-gestational diabetes. I told her I'm still confused - there's no history of diabetes in my family, two prev pregnancies I tested fine, and I've passed the test once already with this pregnancy. Why take another test? They're saying they're worried because I've had two big babies (9+lbs ea) and they want to be sure they don't miss anything, but I'm seriously considering declining the test. Anyone BTDT? I think I just feel a bit overwhelmed/nervous. First the lack of a linea negra, and then found out I have a different pregnancy-related skin thing I need to see a dermatologist for, plus my asthma is so much worse with this pregnancy that they're asking me to use my albuterol everyday....I'm just so worried about everything now -- you'd think this is my first pregnancy! Thx for reading.
Edited for horrific grammar!

I did the one hr. I passed. I had to do the 3 hr too, even though I passed the 1 hr, due to a family history of adult onset diabetes.
Then we found out DD was big, so I had to do the 3 hr AGAIN (passed again). I hate to say it but be thankful it's not the 3 hr instead! That is a killer.

I know it does not seem fair but there is a possibility of developing it later on in the pregnancy, thankfully it's only the 1 hr and not the 3 hr. I had GD with DS#1 and not with DS#2 but with my second pregnancy I had to repeat the 1 hr later on in the pregnancy and then go on to do the 3 hr and passed. I guess they like to torture us a little ugh.

Honestly you don't want to mess around with the possibility of GD. I totally get that you've already tested negative, but it's only the 1 hour again, not the 3 hour. Ask if you can take the drink home with you this way you can drink it an hour before your appt so you can just go in get your blood drawn and be done.
And don't worry about no linea negra, just consider yourself lucky. I never had it with either of my pregnancies.

I did the 1 hr early on due to family history. I'm going for another 1 hr in a few weeks. I just go early in the morning before DH goes to work or on his day off so I don't have to bring DD. Maybe try that so it's not so stressful...

They think I may have GD but haven't done the one hour glucose test yet. According to my OB, they don't like to do it any earlier then 27 weeks. I forget the exact reason, but I think this is when it really develops and any earlier of a test could not be accurate.

My midwives had me take the glucose test at 15 weeks with my second because I had a Big baby, I passed. I took it again at the normal time.
