Re: Anyone scared to have baby#2?
The list of reasons why it's scary for me is: Financial it will be tough because I'll have to quit my job, because $2500+ in daycare costs just doesn't make going to work everyday worth it.
Time...my DD is currently 11 mos old and she STILL isn't sleeping through the night. Needless to say, I'm exhausted all the time. I imagine adding a newborn to the mix, the lack of sleep will be tough.
And honestly, I'm afraid to be a SAHM. I give props to all my friends and the ladies on this site who stay home with their children. It's SO HARD. It's a long day with an infant and the few times I've taken a vacation day to spend with DD, I feel like I'm not organized or productive enough. Maybe that comes in time and experience.

Re: Anyone scared to have baby#2?
DH and I were talking about this last night - I'm almost 34 and DH is almost 44, its not like we can wait too long to try for #2, but at this point, we are hardly getting by with one baby financially (plus DH's 2 daughters) - as much as we would love a sibling for Cailen, we need to wait until we are making more money... we would never be able to afford 2 young children right now

Re: Anyone scared to have baby#2?
Oh yeah, besides having a baby with bad m/s would be awful, and the lack of sleep allll over again - I need some good sleep under my belt (plus, enough to make me feel sexy again to even do the deed! )

Re: Anyone scared to have baby#2?
Wow I loved your post! I have to say I feel exactly the same way. I thought I was just being selfish thinking I wanted to get a little of my life back before doing this all over again. I mean I love my son and can't imagine my life without him but I do sometimes wish for a little more me time! I am glad to hear that I am not the only one with these thoughts I thought something was wrong with me! I do want a #2 but I don't think there is anything wrong with waiting-I would say everyone has a plan and a schedule and you should do it when YOU are ready and no one else can really tell you when that is- it is ultimately up to you and your husband I would say. Good luck!

Yes! I was just thinking about this tonight. We're thinking of TTC in the spring, and as much as I want a second, I'm nervous.

I wish I could wait another year but at 37 I don't have that luxury. I would love to just enjoy this time with DD especially since everything is so easy right now.
Same for us too. Yes I am scared but I am not going to let that stop us from attempting to have the family we want. I wish I had started much younger so I could have a couple more

Re: Anyone scared to have baby#2?
Terrified. I know due to my age I need to have another one soon if I want to give DS a sibling. But the past year has been so difficult (joyful, but difficult) that we are considering not having another.
