Anyone start their marriage with money issues?

i'm getting married in June and although my fiance has a Great job with the NYPD and i will be graduating nursing school right before the wedding i feel like how is it going to be possible to save for a house or condo if we cant even afford to get an apartment?? I know im not working full time or even close to it now but we both still live at home with our parents and have barely any bills. i guess im just abig huge worry wart (that's what he always says) i just feel like its not in the cards. He worries NEVER and im always worring! i think the wedding has a huge role in it b/c were paying for just about everything ourselves so if we werent saving for that we would be able to afford an apt. i guess i just need comfort that some other girls outhere went through this!

I am sure you will get $$$ at your wedding and you will be able to rent an apartment

and since you are done with school- you will start working

everything will work out

DH and I are renters and we would be strapped w/o both incomes. Once you get your degree and get a job and the wedding is over, you guys will get settled.
DH and I are the same way, I worry too much and him too little!

thanks girls i think im just uneasy about it b/c i have always worked at least 2 jobs and never had to worry about money and now when i need it the most i decided its time to head back to school so im broke and feel like this

Once you get married, see if you can continue to save as agressively for your future home as you are for the wedding expenses. That plus the gifts you get (but don't be surprised if the gifts don't come close to the wedding expenses - that was our experience) will give you a comfortable place to start from.
