We are stranded on our road. Not one plow has come around. Nice...

same here. and same for a few friends/family members. it's awful. dh cant go into work.

My IL's are stranded on their street.

Even though we are plowed out, we depend upon them to put the kids on the bus in the morning so if they are not plowed out today, DH will have to stay home tomorrow.

I won't be able to go to work tomorrow either
I am going to raise HELL with the town tomorrow.
How about I hire a private company to plow and deduct the bill off my taxes?
I am so over living on LI- paying crazy taxes for ZERO services.

We are in town of Brookhaven and we are still not plowed.
The last plow came thru at around 1:00 on Friday afternoon when it was just slushy.
Our street has about 3 ft on it. Luckily we don't have to go to work until tomorrow, but I'm not very optimistic that we'll be plowed by then.
We were supposed to attend a family party in valley stream today, that's not happening.
I don't know what would happen if someone needed emergency medical care in a situation like this!

Brookhaven, north shore, nothing here either. An individual with a plow came yesterday but got stuck and piled the snow he could get to well before our driveways, so we are stuck. Plus on the dead end, so I think we will just be forgotten about. No where to go, but the feeling of being trapped isn't nice. Fortunately we can walk to the store if need be.

I don't get it, we live in the Northeast, they should have an abundance of equipment.

plows are probably having a hard time getting around because of all the people that abandoned their cars

Just had a plow come by for the first time. Yay...not that I'm going anywhere!

Are all of you in the heavily hit neighborhoods out east? My friends DH is works for the Twn of Brookhaven highway Department. She said that many of the plows were stuck and they were spending more time getting them out than plowing. If it appeases any of you, he said this has been the worst time in his time on the job. Hang in there!

In past snows, I've seen a lot of pickups with plows on them plowing the secondary roads. I'm assuming the town contracts them out. With 2-3 feet of snow, those pickups have no chance of moving all of that snow. Without those smaller trucks, there's no way the much smaller number of big trucks can get everywhere.

LI can't deal with anything above about a foot of snow.

I have cabin fever evertime i hear a tiny nose outside i jump to the window like it might be a plow coming to rescue us but its not.. lol

I haven't seen a plow either...3 feet of snow just sitting there. I'm not too surprised but when we had the huge storm in 2010, we didn't see a plow for at least 2 days. If schools are open tomorrow I have to go to work

I'm in Stony Brook...saw one plow come ONCE...we're totally stuck.
DH was called into work and couldn't go. Not good...

My brother lives on holtsville and as of 9:00 this morning no plows in their development. We had one pass through yesterday (Holbrook) but its still a huge mess!

im in town of brookhaven....we lost count of how many plows came on our road during and after the storm! we are convinced someone who works for the town must live on our block bc were not a main road or anything

In nesconset, not one down our road. Just got an email saying they were having snow plow issues & fuel shortages, but roads should be done tonight. We will see!

We are completely plowed out.

I have to say, there are even PLOWS getting stuck in this. I think they are doing the best they can given the circumstances, these guys are working around the clock.

We are in Medford and thankfully have had a couple plows go through this morning. Last night one came through but got stuck. It's a lot of snow to get moved

Same here! RIDICULOUS! I live on somewhat of a main road too!

I drove home from work on Friday and left at 3pm from Hauppauge to Miller Place taking 347. The roads were awful! Not ONE plow truck the whole way home and it took me 2 and a half hours! You would think THAT would have been a sign to get to work. But almost 2 days later and there are STILL cars stuck on 347. Honestly what is wrong with the towns?

My DH is out there with his big @ss snow thrower doing our street.
I am sitting here like because all I am thinking is- how far are you going to go? To the corner? Then what?

I think he is losing his mind from cabin fever.
Although it's amazing to see blacktop.
Just not sure where it will take us!

You can see a bunch of plows on the News 12 traffic cameras. Exit 57 or so going west looks to be totally clear. Looks like a big huge mess for the rest of the exits going east
