Anyone successfully get rid of drain flies?
We are seeing them around the drain in our shower and I would really like to get rid of them ASAP. Any DIY things that actually worked? Or should we get a plumber to come snake and throw stuff down?

Are they gnats or flies? For us, in our old house, we used to use Draino and that would work to clean out the gunk and get rid of them (gnats). But that was a sewer based house. Now we have cesspools and we prefer not to use Draino.
You can also try baking soda and vinegar.

Re: Anyone successfully get rid of drain flies?
i used an exterminator they used some powder that doesn't dissolve in water. They also recommended using boiling water.
The problem with water and bleach is it doesn't kill the eggs - that's why you use a powder that stays there and kills them when they hatch.
I know they mentioned you can get the powder in Home Depot but I don't remember what's called.
