Anyone swim for their workouts?
I joined a local pool for 2 hours a week of swimming. I am tired of not getting my cardio in during the winter when its too cold or icy outside to run (I quit my gym because of where I live, my schedule, and the fact that we have a full set of weights and a yoga room in my house but want cardio)
I haven't swam since college (just playing around in pools and oceans - no laps) and was wondering if it would keep up my cardio and maybe help keep me in shape during the winter.
Any success stories?
I do yoga daily and weights/pilates 3-5 times a week!

last summer I swam several times a week. The first time in YEARS, I cant say I lost wt but loved being in the pool, very refreshing and relaxing. It help my mind if not my body 100%.
Due to my car accident this summer I was unable t swim but still went to the pool for the mental part of it. Try it you can take water zumba I did that after I tore my meniscus

I do!
I do triathlons though so I've been in the pool a lot over the last two years. Before that, I probably hadn't done a lap since middle school. I've been injured since being pregnant and can't run so swim is something I've been doing a lot more of and it really helped me lose my baby weight.
I basically just do laps for approximately 40 minutes at a time and usually swim about 1.5 miles in that time.
