Anyone take child care leave from NYC DOE?
How does it work? When do you have to apply??
I went out on maternity leave in May and didn't return. I am thinking of taking a year off through child care leave. Can I work part time at another job while out?

When I filled out my paperwork for this upcoming school year, I had to have all the forms in by the second week of May. At this point you'd probably need to contact your administration, and maybe your union rep.
You cannot work another part time job (unless you're working for the DOE) while you're out. If you work for cash... don't get caught. It's grounds for termination.
