Anyone ttc 2nd child?

Hey ladies, my dd is just 5 month but DH and I are thinking of ttc a second child. Our dd took 7 months of infertility treatment at the RE, and once I got pg I had a pretty easy pregnancy. If you are ttc your second or more child, have you found the RE process harder than the first?

Technically I am still ttc my 1st... However, I did get pregnant last spring and carried till 17.5wks so I WAS a success story even though it was short lived.

I got pregnant on my 3rd medicated, all which went smoothly since I stimmed well and went from one cycle to the next with no problems.

Well....... this time around I did 3 IUI cycles and did NOT get pregnant- even while having on average more follicles per IUI. For one of the cycles I was very delayed in responding and took more than double the gonal-f I normally had to use...... I had to go on the pill at one point between cycles...... I had a chemical........... all things that didn't happen my first time around. I never imagined it would be harder my second time around, but it definitely is!

I'd be interested in hearing what other people's experiences are.. and like I said.. technically, this is still my first but I did conceive and have a healthy pregnancy up until the middle of the 2nd tri.

I thought it would be easier, especially since we jumped to what worked last time and didn't have to 'test the waters' .. but hopefully for you it will be different! I have seen people get pregnant with their second after IF treatments and sailed right through!!

Believe it or not, my husband and I have spoken about this subject.

After 1 year of ttc on our own and then 9 months of seeing an RE, two rounds if med IUI, our are 7 months.
We want more, just not now. We have not been careful, so to speak,so we have the mind frame-of if it happens great.

Ideally I would love to start ttc when the girls are 3, I'll be 37. We don't think we would do mediacated IUI. I would like 4 years in between. But if my history has taught me anything, its that you can't plan and its Gods will - of what'll be.

I am currently trying for DC #2. My DD is almost 11 months old and we started trying on our own when she was 3mos old. Been seeing the RE again for the past 2 cycles - did 1 cycle of medicated IUI (injectables) but did not get pregnant. (I got pregnant with IUI/injectibles all 3x I did it before, 2 m/c and my beautiful DD came of it.) I guess I thought we knew what worked last time so it would be easier. Not the case!

I am currently doing the injections for another IUI and am responding very slowly. Praying this time works!

With ds it took us over a year but we had 2 miscarriages and some issues that were found and needed to be treated.

this time around it took 3 cycles

DD took only 1 month at the RE...one clomid/timed intercourse cycle and that was it! This time around it is taking a lot longer. We have been TTC for 6 months now, but I've only had 3 cycles. So if I look at it that way, it's not so bad. I assumed it would be fairly easy this time around and looking back, I do wish I had started just a little earlier.

Me! DS will be 9 months next week but it took us 4.5 years and multiple IVFs to get pg. Trying on our own for a few months just to see what happens. If it doesn't happen then I'll be back at Cornell sometime this spring. I'll be 40 this year so I don't want to waste any time.

I'm sort of worried about how I am going to handle taking care of dd with all the emotional and physical ups and downs of going through more fertility treatments. TTC her was so tough on me mentally, the drugs made me feel like I was having an emotional breakdown half the time. I'm just so nervous but I know we want more children.

I've been TTC for #2 for a year now. We got preg in June and m/c in August at 8.5 weeks. We were told to wait 2 cycles, which brought us to AF on 11/5. We're now still TTC.

For our we conceived first cycle, m/c at 8 weeks and then conceived again 6 mos later. So, all in all, it took 8.5 months last time and we're at a year this time. Def harder

But, I'm hopeful that this is our month!!!
