Anyone use essential oils
Dh is into all that stuff, he makes all our soaps and lotions so he had all sorts of essential oils. We put tea tree oil in dd's baths and it seems to help. She had the mollusCom virus fir months and it went away within weeks of using the oil and her eczema also improved. It's a natural antiseptic.

Anyone use essential oils
I was told once that they are irritating if directly applied to the skin. Is this not true?

Anyone use essential oils
I get them from young living. I love thieves to keep the germs away. I also use to make my own body products. My favorites are thieves, stress away, lemon, orange, peppermint, wintergreen, grapefruit and valor. I use lavender to rub on my stomach when I have period cramps. Peppermint in my temples to fix a headache.
I only use young living bc all of the ones I smell at whole foods or health food stores smell fake and aren't organic. Young living is therapeutic grade and so you can ingest. I use thieves and lemon w honey and boiling water to make "tea". Or drink citrus oils in water.
Also I rub endoflex on my thyroid daily! I have hashimotos disease.

If you apply peppermint or wintergreen to you privates I assure you there will be too much tingle to handle!
There are definitely "hot" oils and "cold" oils. All oils can be diluted with a carrier oil like coconut, almond, jojoba, even olive oil.
I use thieves on the bottoms of my dd's feet nightly. It has cinnamon and Clove which are "hot" oils but doesn't bother us. I pretty much have no need to dilute. Unless you're getting a massage or want the oil to go further.

I can vouch that pure tea tree oil is!! I poked my finger with a sewing needle. I put the pure tea tree oil on it (not the ointment I normally use), and it blistered up really bad and then basically killed the skin in that area. It turned yellow and was just disgusting!!
I've heard thieves oil can help with illness. Not sure how it works though! Should have read ahead....I see you rub it on your child's feet. Just the pure oil from the bottle? Do they sell it at Whole Foods?

I started with a young living starter kit. I signed up as a distributer to get the discount but I do NOT sell them.
So you get the diffuser which is $99 plus like 11 bottles of 5ml oils. I love it because I wouod NEVER have purchased sacred frankincense and now I love it. At first about half of the oils I didn't totally love and after smelling a few times they grew on me. Supposedly what your body needs doesn't always smell great. Now I am obsessed with some. It's a great introduction. You also get a bunch of samples to share. The whole kit is $150. Then I do essential rewards. So I need to spent $50 a month and you get so many discounts and free items. But that is totally optional. At first I was like no way do I need that. But I kept running out of oils! I am so obsessed. I exclusively use the thieves cleaner on my entire house. Windows, floors, granite, tile...it smells like thieves which is my favorite.

yes. you need a carrier like an oil or coconut oil.
I put Thieves on my kids and it burns once applied so a carrier is helpful or placing it elsewhere....like heels of the foot.

Anyone use essential oils
I guess everyone is different. I put pure tea tree oil on my face every day not diluted and it doesn't sting me. Thieves on the bottoms of our feet is also not diluted. However if you start to sense discomfort applying a carrier oil will dilute it and instantly provide relief.
One drop of peppermint oil equals about 75-100 tea bags. It's extremely concentrated.
To the poster that asked abt theives. It is a young living trademark only. However do terra has their own version too. It is super easy to make on your own also. It contains lemon, cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, and Rosemary essential oils. I make my own hand spray with distilled water and aloe Vera juice.
The story behind thieves is that during the Black Plague 4 french grave robbers slathered themselves with these oils and stole from the dead. When questioned by police they gave up their secret as to how they didn't become infected in exchange to go free. A virus cannot live in cinnamon or clove oil. Although bf that statement is not FDA regulated you cannot claim that these oils cure, heal, fix ANY problem. Instead you can say things like "lavender helps to promote feelings decreased stress".
With theives I diffuse the oil, apply to bottoms of feet for immune system support. If I have a sore throat I gargle with one drop in water, the tea I mentioned, and also rub on throat or behind ears.

Anyone use essential oils
You want to make sure you have therapeutic quality if you'll be applying topically or ingesting. Young living is my favorite. Doterra is good as well. I have a woman coming to my office on this Thursday for a free workshop. If anyone is interested feel free to FM me. It's at 7 and in East Islip. HTH!!
You don't need a carrier oil with all of them. Some are "spicier" than others so on children yes those definitely need a carrier oil and some adults prefer the carrier oil too. Coconut, almond and avocado oils are my favorite ones to use.

I was told that Thieves couldn't be applied to the skin. Just through a diffuser?

I was told that Thieves couldn't be applied to the skin. Just through a diffuser? I thought you could too. I mix it with a carrier oil and put it on their feet. My kids do not ingest any oils though I also put it on a tissue and run the humidifier
