Anyone use OTC progesterone cream?
Did you get the ok from your dr. first?
I have a gyno appt on 12/31 and plan to show him my charts and tell him about my 9-10 day LPs. I will most likely have O'd by this appt. I'm going to ask about testing my progesterone levels.
I've been taking B6 since Oct with no help. I just switched to a B-complex b/c I read you need the additional B vitamins to help absorb the 6. I've also been reading about natural progesterone creams (which oddly enough was suggested to me years ago when I wasn't TTC by a holistic nutritionist). Would you wait until after appt to start this to a) get his ok b) see what progesterone levels are w/o the cream?
I would just hate to have another cycle down the drain for a short LP. I'm trying to think positive that this month will be different, but last cycle, I started spotting 8dpo!
TIA

I'd wait for your doc's appointment before taking anything like that. They may find something different to perscribe for you. I've read that the OTC progesterone creams are not effective anyway.

Re: Anyone use OTC progesterone cream?
i think i would wait until after the appt. because i wouldn't want the cream to interfere with any testing. i would want to know what my progesterone levels are without the help of the cream. you can ask your dr's advice on whether or not to use the natural progesterone cream, but they might tell you to just take an Rx for progesterone instead.. of course the natural progesterone cream is the 'natural' way of increasing your progesterone (i think it comes from wild yams), while an Rx would probably just be all chemicals... i think it depends on what you feel is the better route for you.
i use a natural progesterone cream called Emerita, which i got at whole foods. it is a little pricey (around $25-30 for a small tube), but i think it is worth a try if you have LPD. i also have a LP of about 10 days, and since using the cream, my LP has been a little bit longer (by a day or two). Maybe some people don't think it works, but i think that it has helped for me... but you have to use it religiously..twice a day, half a tsp., and rotate the areas that you apply it on your body.
oh, and i think that if they do bloodwork to test your levels and stuff, they try to do it around 3 days after O.
good luck!
