Anyone use water/vinegar solutions to clean?
I feel like I've posted this before but can't find it, sorry
I use only natural cleaners at home, and they're soooo $$$$ I keep saying I want to switch to just the water/vinegar solution people rave about...not only is it natural/safe, it's cheap too!
I mostly want it for my hardwoods, and also for the bathroom/kitchen. What are the ratios you use, water:vinegar? And do you use the same stuff for everything-- floors, bathroom, etc?
Do you still use regular cleaners for anything-- say, does the vinegar/water not work for certain things?
Thanks!

Re: Anyone use water/vinegar solutions to clean?
I use the vinegar for anything food touches. Countertops, DSs highchair tray, cutting boards, etc.
I do still use the natural cleaners for the hardwood floors. The smell of the vinegar stays in the wood floors, and although I know it is clean it is not the most appetizing smell, unless you want a salad.
I do about 60% filtered water, the rest vinegar (and sometimes a touch of lemon). For things that have to be "scrubbed," I'll add either baking powder or salt (as long as the surface is not abrasive). I find it cleans just as well as anything store-bought. The only surface I have to *rewash* is the stainless steel look appliances...it sometimes streaks.

Thank you SO MUCH!!
about the salad!! That is what vinegar reminds me of
So you clean your toilet with that mixture too, right? I'm just so skeeved by the toilet, we still use the 7th Generation stuff for it, but I'd love to not have to buy it anymore.

I do, and if it is a big job (like when DS is potty training & DH does not tell me that he missed) I mix it with some baking powder right before I scrub. It works really well.

I use it for our wood floors but with lemon -that way you cannot really smell the vinegar.

And a weed killer.... it's almost, but not quite, as efficient as the dangerous stuff, but I can make up a bottle and give it to DS to spray with, so it's less work for me....

I use vinegar and water in the kitchen and I buy the Method stuff for the bathroom. For my floors I use the Shark Steam mop.

Re: Anyone use water/vinegar solutions to clean?
We use a 50-50 ratio of vinegar to water & use it on our floors, the counters, her highchair, the table and the bathroom vanity. We do use a bleach solution in our toilet though.
