Anyone want to help me brainstorm - DD's birthday
My daughter is turning 7 in 3 weeks and out of the blue, she wants a girly party. I wanted to keep her party smaller this year (and DH is balking at the prices in general) but honestly, all she would want is a party where she can get her nails done and have Big Time Rush as the theme. Sooo...I have very little time to plan but I started thinking I could have a "Big Time Birthday Bash" party (if you know the show, all the episodes are Big Time _____)
That's as far as I got. haha Could I enlist a friend and do all their nails myself? I'm picturing 8 girls in my backyard (or manageably in my dining room if need be)
Any other thoughts???? HELP!
Any ideas welcome
Thank you!!

How about a red carpet runway and they can put on a fashion show ? Do you know someone with a karaoke machine?
Maybe you can do hair also...You may even be able to find someone to come to your home to do it for you reasonably ...

Re: Anyone want to help me brainstorm - DD's birthday
Do you have any babysitters that you know or high school students in the area?
I think having 2 teenage girls doing nails, a few others doing like an all natural facial and maybe a jewelry making craft?
With 8 girls, break them down into groups.
We went to a "scavenger hunt" birthday party where each group had to complete tasks (write happy birthday); pose for photos; sing happy birthday to the video camera...it was really cute.
If you have a printer at home, you can print 8x10s of each girl.

Best ideas for a home party:
manicures- you can get a friend to do yourself- or do you know any teens on your block/area? make sure you get quick dry polish and some glitter top coat
You can also get a curling iron and curl the girls hair...
you can also get some cheap makeup and give the girls makeovers- use wet & wild brand- basically most girls like pink, purple, white & pale blue.. that is what we usually have on hand.
how about having the girls design their own big time rush t-shirts.. you can get white t-shirts and fabric paints @ michaels....

If you are going with a Big Time Rush theme maybe get some of those blow up microphones and they could do karaoke. Of course you would have to buy the CD

Re: Anyone want to help me brainstorm - DD's birthday
A friend recently did an at home girl party. I wasn't there, DD was, but this is what basically happened...
nails/toes - done by a friend craft - painted and decorated a wood jewelry box outside play food cake pinata
I think the most challenging part will be to manage the nails while entertaining all the other girls. Maybe have some music they could dance to, or games they could play while they are taking turns w/ their nails.

Re: Anyone want to help me brainstorm - DD's birthday
We had a friend who just had a spa-themed birthday party for her daughter who turned 6 and it was one of the greatest parties my daughter had ever been to.
She sent out invitations inviting the girls to "Gianna's Spa" and tied the invitation to a hand-held mirror that she got at the dollar store and decorated with rhinestones.
The day of, she sat outside at a table and set it up as if she was the receptionist. She signed in each girl and gave them a name tag to wear.
Inside she covered her couches with inexpensive throw blankets (told me she got them for a dollar each) that were pink, so everything looked pink. She Had streamers hanging from the ceiling, and set up the dinning room table with chairs going all around and a little mirror for each girl sitting there (again from the dollar store) and they did facials first.
She had a friend help her and they went around and misted each girl's face with just water from a small spray bottle. They told the girls to dab the water around their eyes, mouth, forehead and that it was for their wrinkles. Then she gave them each a small dab of face lotion and they rubbed it in --- wrinkle cream. That was the facial part.
She bought dollar flip flops and the girls decorated them with fake flowers (used glue dots to adhere them) and self-stick rhinestones.
Then they took turns painting the girl's toenails and finger nails and gave them a variety of colors to chose from. While one was paiting the other person was playing games with them in the living room like freeze dance and stuff. They had dress up stuff like feather boas, purses, tutus (some that she bought at the dollar store others that she just had collected over the years) that they wore while they danced.
They had pizza and cupcakes.
Each girl got a goodie bag with a little pedicure set, small hand lotion, a lipsmacker lip gloss, their decorated flip flops and a few other goodies.
My daughter LOVED it and was giving us "spa treatments" for a week afterwards and wants a spa party now also!
For the thank you she took a big photo of all of the girls out in her front yard and sent a photocard thank you of the group.
