Anyone with a Digital SLR - a word of advice
Just a word of advice, just in case you don't know already:
Make sure you buy a filter for your camera's lens!!!
My camera bag dropped today. It's the second time the filter shattered, leaving the $$$ lens in tact.
A filter costs about $14. A lens, well I'm sure you already know how much they run.
Here is what one looks like:
Any camera store will have them. Best Buy carries them as well.

Yep, I have one now, after our talk last October.
I am glad your lens didn't break.
Oh, I also have a circular polarizer. Do you know when I should use that instead of the regular lens cover?

I have a UV haze filter, it also holds my flip out lens cover on.
Aside from shattering the lens, can dropping it damage anything internally I hope not!

I think the rest of it is ok since I took some photos after. It is the equivalent of dropping a laptop since the camera is a computer.

Thanks for the bump Barbara! I haven't even used my new camera yet!!!
I'm a little slow here- is that on the camera all the time while the lens is on?
