Anyone with a hi-ranch or other open floor plan...
have more than one paint color in the main level (not including bedrooms). My rooms all open up into each other so i feel like i have to use a neutral color (beige) but id really love to figure out a way to use more than one color but not make the house look choppy.
would love some pics if you have. I'm really not good at this.

You could do an accent wall or use colors that are in the same 'family', like different shades of same color or shades that coordinate well. BM site shows different colors that coordinate.

We have an open floor plan, a cape with vaulted ceilings in the living space. We have a neutral color (behr harvest brown), and lighter color (behr parchment) on the top and ceiling. We did an accent wall of a blue green color in the dining room to add some color.

we have a neutral color in the living room, and i'm planning on separating the dinning area by painting a accent color.

Re: Anyone with a hi-ranch or other open floor plan...
When we bought our house, 2 of the walls in the kitchen were a different color. We didn't like how it looked (and it was bubble gum pink) so we just painted it the same as the rest of the room. I'm not big on accent walls though. To me, you can tell what each part of the room is by the furniture and that's enough for me.
ETA: My open floor plan is just one big room with no wall or partial wall separating each area.

I have a DR, Kitchen and Den that are all open to each other but the spaces are seperated by a step down into each room. I had to have all the rooms compliment each other, but did not want them all the same color. I knew when I bought the house that I wanted to paint my DR navy blue, so I starte with that and planned out the rest of the rooms. My den is a medium gray and my kitchen is a white-blue. All 3 rooms flow, but are all different colors and have their own unique personalities. I do use the colors of the other 2 rooms in the one I am decorating - so den has touches of navy blue and white-blue accents. But not so much that it is overdone.
