Anyone with a retroverted uterus... COME IN!
Hi... So at my first visit to the OB she said that I have a retroverted uterus (tilts backwards).
She said its just genetic, shouldn't cause any problems BUT I'm just wondering... Anyone else that has this...
Did you carry differently? Show less/more?
Was birth easy/hard or effected by the titled uterus?
Did you feel the baby later/less?
Thanks for responding... Just want to know!!

I have an inverted uterus- same as you it tilts backwards. It's not in issue in pregnancy but can be an issue in trying to get pregnant. The uterus starts to tilt forward around 16 weeks and is in the same position as everyone elses after that. I started feeling the baby move around 17-18 weeks, so no issues with that. I started showing around 22 weeks- check out my abum for pics.

oh and not sure how far along you are- but for the 12 weeks ultrasound they needed to do an internal ultrasound since the uterus is not forward enough at that point. that's when I found out I had it!

Re: Anyone with a retroverted uterus... COME IN!
I have/had a retroverted uterus and it has caused me no problems like the prior poster stated the uterus corrects itself after 12 weeks or so I started showing around 18 weeks or so. My dr told me it will cause no problems with the birth. It is a very common condition that is corrected once you get pregnant and will not retrovert back again after pregnancy.
ETA: I also had to have internal sono's for the first few times but by my 20 week sono they did a external and I just had one yesterday and it was also external

I have a retroflexed uterus
Didnt know it until I was pregnant last yr. It didnt lead to any issues during pregnancy. I feel like I carried small, but then again I only gained 20lbs and DD was 7lbs6oz. My OB said it wouldnt affect the pregnancy at all!
GL!
