Of course. I worry how bad things will be even for our own children. Everything that we do (or don't do) RIGHT NOW will affect future generations including our own children's futures. (I actually don't know if she has one, but I am willing to bet she does). Has she moved into an eco friendly home with solar panels? Has she ditched her AC in the summer? Has she stopped eating red meat and products made with Palm Oil? I'm betting she scarfing down a bag of Frito Lay as she typed this post. I'm willing to bet her small sacrifices are bringing reusable bags to the grocery store and drinking out of a reusable bottle and not much more. She will never admit that you are correct. NO ONE has a small house AND has a library in it. She HAS mentioned over and over about hating the summer so providing AC for a larger home will use more energy.

It doesn’t keep me up at night, but I do worry about it. There have been so many mistakes made.

That being said, I do what I can. It’s probably offset by all the travelling I have done, though. Everyone (I hope) tries to do their part, but I’m not sure it is enough at this point. It kind of seems like a lost cause.

Of course. I worry how bad things will be even for our own children. Everything that we do (or don't do) RIGHT NOW will affect future generations including our own children's futures. Even small measures can have a big impact so I try and do what I can to decrease my own carbon footprint. A few small changes now can prevent so much damage later.

What is even more unfortunate to me is how many people don't take this seriously and continue to take our natural resources for granted. Global warming and the damage its done to our climate is easily seen just in our lack of seasons here in the northeast. Falls are endlessly warmer, summers are blazing hot and we barely have spring anymore. Ice caps are melting at rapid rates, raging forest fires are becoming worse year over year, we're seeing epic level droughts and the list keeps going on.

But hey, what can we expect from a nation where half of its citizens don't trust or believe in science, think everything is a media conspiracy and don't have the foresight to consider the impact to future generations, generations of their OWN family. It's sad really, I think we are doomed quite honestly. Unfortunately, there is just too much ignorance and stupid to contend with no matter how hard some people try to correct the situation and do the right thing.

But why?? Jesus, why do you guys have to take it there and start sh!t all the time. Post that you are scared and what you do to alleviate the problem. Stop blaming and calling people names. Then play victim when they come back at you.

Perhaps when people reply they should make an effort to stop bringing up people's personal lives, of which they know nothing about, and instead stay on topic. Making assumptions about others is stirring $hit. I on the other hand replied directly to the topic at hand. If you took it personally for some reason, that's not really my problem.

Exactly? You are just as stupid as she is then. What steps has she actually taken to reduce her carbon footprint? Has she given up her gas guzzling SUV? (I actually don't know if she has one, but I am willing to bet she does). Has she moved into an eco friendly home with solar panels? Has she ditched her AC in the summer? Has she stopped eating red meat and products made with Palm Oil? I'm betting she scarfing down a bag of Frito Lay as she typed this post. I'm willing to bet her small sacrifices are bringing reusable bags to the grocery store and drinking out of a reusable bottle and not much more. I highly doubt your friend over there is taking any major steps to reduce her carbon footprint but here you are applauding her.
