My brother has worn a medic alert bracelet since he was about 6 years old. My parents liked that there is a registration number etched into it so that if he was unresponsive and the medical info was unreadable emergency responders would still be able to find out what his issue is. He's 32 and still wears the same one, he's just had the bracelet made larger over the years.
